Observed and identified with the help of the fine folks at the Idaho Bird Observatory from the top of the hill as part of the hawk watch efforts. They observed a kettle of 21 of them just the other day. Amazing!
I started birding in July 2005. Lynn Davenport asked if I wanted to go on a walk with him down by the lake. He handed me a pair of crumy binoculars and away we went. I was impressed by the variety of birds that I had never before taken the time to notice. It was an instant addiction. It is a nerdy hobby, but it gets me outdoors, has the thrill of the hunt, and helps me appreciate the creations of God.
