Thanks to Lew Ulrey in Boise for letting me come over and see this infrequent to Idaho bird in his back yard. It was feeding along with the Juncos.

I'm an eBirder - Are you?
I started birding in July 2005. Lynn Davenport asked if I wanted to go on a walk with him down by the lake. He handed me a pair of crumy binoculars and away we went. I was impressed by the variety of birds that I had never before taken the time to notice. It was an instant addiction. It is a nerdy hobby, but it gets me outdoors, has the thrill of the hunt, and helps me appreciate the creations of God.
Why this Birding Blog?
Every new bird sighting by every birder has it's own story. After time, some birds become common place, but its important to point out what they do and where you see them. Who knows...one day I might make my own birding field guide and the information I post here will be a good source for me.
I am going to try and write about every bird I have seen, but I've got a lot of catching up to do. I will indicate by a number where each bird is in the order of my life list.

Bird Talk
- Pishing = making sounds that get some birds to come and investigate you
- Life Bird or Lifer = A bird that you have identified for the first time
- Life List = A personal list of your first identification of each bird you see
- Nemesis Bird = A bird that you have tried over and over to see, but it seems to elude you.

Many, if not most, of the photos I use on this blog site are not mine. I have robbed them from the world wide web using a Google Image search. I will make an effort to avoid using copy written photos, but because I don't seek financial gain I may steal a few if they are the best I can find. Should any photographer out there happen across this blog and discovers one of their own photos and would like me to remove it, I will happily do so. I hope to one day invest in some nice photography equipment and be able to add my own photography. I will indicate when the picture is my own.
