I was delighted to add Bobolink to my life list as I had seen so many recenting postings about them. We saw two mating pairs of Bobolinks along Center Patrol Rd. between Cottonwood Pond and P-Ranch at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon.
I started birding in July 2005. Lynn Davenport asked if I wanted to go on a walk with him down by the lake. He handed me a pair of crumy binoculars and away we went. I was impressed by the variety of birds that I had never before taken the time to notice. It was an instant addiction. It is a nerdy hobby, but it gets me outdoors, has the thrill of the hunt, and helps me appreciate the creations of God.
